NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) ? Political analysts in Kenya say primary voting over the last two days to select candidates for the country's national election in March was full of irregularities, disorganization and disgruntled losers who have alleged rigged polls.
Cyprian Nyamwamu a political observer and consultant for local observer groups said Friday the process has been a sham largely because political parties did not want to prepare to hold a credible nomination exercise.
The nomination process started on Thursday but most political parties were forced to extend the voting to Friday because of problems in the polling process.
Massive violence broke out after Kenya's last national election in 2007 and more than 1,000 people were killed. Officials are trying to avoid a repeat of the violence.
