STEUBENVILLE - The new Texas Roadhouse being built at the Fort Steuben Mall will be ready for occupancy in May 2013.
Travis Doster, spokesman for the company, said Thursday the actual opening date is slated for May 27. Previously, a corporate consultant had erroneously pegged the opening date as May 2014.
Doster, though, said the construction work should be done, "probably at the end of February or first of March."

"Ohio is actually our second biggest state as far as locations," he said, adding that Steubenville was chosen "just because of the traffic patterns, it's a high-traffic area."
"We kind of feel the city matches up well with our demographics," he said. "We just think it's under-served for our kind of food."
The restaurant will be located between Aspen Dental and Eat'n Park.
Doster said it will measure just under 7,000 square feet, which is typical, and will only serve dinner on weekdays. On weekends, however, the restaurant will open for lunch.
He said the Steubenville location will employ about 170 people, about 40 percent of them full time.
The hiring process "usually starts about a month before we open," he said.
