Female cancer patients, survivors invited to weekend retreat in Hesston

Women who have cancer and cancer survivors are invited to a weekend of relaxation and support starting Friday at Crossland Conference Center in Hesston.

?It?s just a girlfriend weekend filled with lots of laughing, learning and pampering,? said Diana Thomi, Camp Victory executive director. ?It?s a weekend for women with cancer to find out they are not alone and learn how to get through their cancer journey and live free.?

The weekend will take place at the center at 8036 N. Hoover Road in Hesston. It will start Friday and conclude after a thanksgiving lunch Sunday. The ?Leaning to Live Free? weekend will include a talk by Selinza Mitchell, an oncologist nurse educator from Dallas, as well as massages, treatment education, painting and pampering by Eric Fisher Academy.

?Mostly the weekend will be for women to talk and learn what to expect during their cancer journey and how to get through it and keep on living life to the fullest,? said Thomi. ?Other events will include a seminar on the healing power of tea, water aerobics and survivor speakers.?

Cost for the weekend is $75. Scholarships are available for those unable to afford the fee. Register by calling Victory in the Valley at 316-682-7400.
