The credit underwriting team ensures the profitable development of our clients business by combining superior risk insights to customers / clients needs.
The Credit Underwriting Manager will manage and lead a team of up to 10 Credit Analysts. You will also be responsible for the continued development of the team through effective coaching and performance management.? You will be dealing with the day to day activities of a manager function overseeing all credit proposals coming into the department and supporting the Credit Analysts with any adverse or complex cases making sure they deliver to SLA timeframes and deliver to client expectations.? You will also be working closely with the Credit Director to ensure the department continues to achieve its performance objectives as set by the business.
The Credit Underwriting Manager will liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth process of loan applications making sure the team has the current knowledge of credit proposals and underwriting.?
The Credit Underwriter will work within the guidelines as stipulated by the business ensuring that he/she and the team operate according to Company policy and procedure.? You will ensure that both you and the team work within the parameters set by governing bodies and compliance.? You will ensure that you and the team treat the customers of our client fairly at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and supporting a team of up to 10 Credit Analysts dealing with any complex queries before being escalated to the Credit Director.
- Effectively managing and coaching the team in achieving their KPI?s, including one to one performance reviews and follow up of actions plans set for development for improvement.
- Managing and making sound business decisions on a small portfolio of credit proposals providing rationale to the business.
- Collate and analyse information and produce credit papers on large transactions.
- Liaise with key staff to ensure approvals are delivered in a timely fashion.
- Ensure detailed management information is maintained on approvals as required.
- Research the web and financial media for appropriate supporting information.
- Liaise with the team with a view to quoting and winning larger transaction business.
- Portfolio administration, producing letters and required management information.
- Effectively manage errors and or complaints in accordance with company rules and procedures and timeframes.
- Ensuring that our client is at all times compliant with the FSA principles and TFC policies.
Candidate Profile:?
- You must have a minimum of 5 years & ideally 7 plus years of people leadership experience in a credit function from within the finance & leasing sector. This may be asset or vendor finance or banking based but should include experience gained with major companies.
- You will have good communication skills & the ability to communicate effectively both up & down within our clients business & you should be looking for next step in your career & be clearly ambitious as our clients seek to promote from within to the next level.
- Your CV must show decisive steps in your career to date in terms of your experience, your achievements & increases in your responsibilities.
- You must be someone who is willing and able to take personal ownership of business processes & business improvements.
- Finally you will be a relaxed & self confident leader that your team will buy into & want to follow.
Package
Base salary range to ?75,000, possibly slightly more for an exceptional individual, 10% performance bonus plus all usual large company benefits.
